Welcome to Fifth Grade!



Fifth grade is a very exciting year filled with engaging cuuriculum and rich experiences.     We are very excited about working with you and your child this year.   During the school year, we will study many exciting topics.  Some of these include the Vikings, Ancient Rome, animal classification, the human body, mutlplication and division and cursive handwriting.  In addition to curriculum areas we will br providing strategies in the areas of organization, time management, personal responsibility and study skills.  Third grade is a year of academic growth and children will be receiving letter grades.

We believe that in order for a child to be successful in school, parent involvement is crucial.  You can be involved in many ways, such as a classroom volunteer, helping from home, chaperoning a field trip or helping with our special events.

Communication between home and school is key to student success.  Ways to stay informed and current on your child's progress are email, the online gradebook, your child's weekly planner and the online assignment calendar.   We welcome and appreciate comments and input from parents.
