DRESS CODE POLICIES
Students ~ with colder temperature hitting ~ we need to remind you here at North Canyon that the following items are NOT PERMITTED inside the buildings:
Beanies or Caps of any kind
Crochet Caps
Hoods not permitted. Jackets and Sweatshirts permitted, hoods cannot be worn
LUNCH: Attention North Canyon Students ~ Lunch sales for the week of November 9th is as follows:
GLBTS will be selling Rice Bowls
Technology will be selling Gennady Subs
Junior Class will be selling Chick-Fil-A
All being sold in the Mall Area during lunch. Come on out and support your favorite club or sport.
The WOW stem for the day/Monday is: audi which means hear as in audible (adj) capable of being heard; loud enough to be heard.

GREEN TEAM RECYCLING ~ congratulations to our fabulous ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT, ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT, ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT!!! for winning "Recycler of the Week!" Way to go ATHLETIC Department. Remember North Canyon, to GO GREEN!!
BLOOD DRIVE ~ Attention Staff & Students ~ The Blood Drive is coming up on Friday, November 20th. Come and save lives and if you are under 18, come and get a minor donor permit in room # 101 or # 172.
Teenage Republicans ~ There will be a Teenage Republicans meeting on Thursdays in room 138. We will be making an official roster, so all members need to attend and be sure to bring their dues." Thank you!
TUTORING: Attention North Canyon Students ~ Are you having trouble in a few of your classes?? Come to NHS Tutoring Thursdays, after school. It is completely free and our tutors can help to answer all your questions. We are available Thursday after school in the media center.
KEY CLUB ~ Hey Key Club! Don't forget there is a meeting at lunch Thursdays in Mr. Sheoran's room # 215. PLEASE NOTE THE NEW LOCATION, Room # 215 !!! You don't want to miss this important meeting!!!
ASIAN CULTURAL CLUB ~ The Asian Cultural Club meet at lunch on Mondays in Room # 205. New members are always wecome!
RED CROSS ~ Red Cross Members ~ meet every other Monday at lunch in room #220 (Mrs. Clark's room). Tell your friends and come out to save the world!
TUTORING! ~ Attention all Freshman!! Need help in a class? Feel like your totally lost? The North Canyon Ambassadors are here to help you!! Come to freshman tutoring Mondays from 2:00pm - 3:00pm in the media center.
The Jewish Cultural Club ~ The Jewish Cultural Club will be meeting on Mondays at lunch in Mrs. Henzel's room # 279. As always, new members are welcomed! Hope to see you there!
FAVORITE TEACHER/STAFF ~ Students ~ do you have a favorite teacher or staff member ?? Come to the triangle and nominate them each month. The box and nomination slips are placed on the front desk throughout the school year. Come support your favorite teacher or staff member!!
SOPHOMORE CLASS ~ Hey North Canyon ~ Do you know what a SMENCIL is ???? No ?? Well its a smelly pencil with many different scents. The Sophomore class will be selling them during lunch and in between classes in room # 168. Come on over and see what these SMENCILS are all about and support your Sophomore class!!
I GOT BOOKED: Students and Staff ~ we are continuing our "I Got Booked" program in which staff members will fill out a "I got Booked" slip for observing any student reading during non-classroom instruction hours. We will have a drawing once a month in which students are rewarded for their reading efforts. The "I Got Booked" container is in the front receptionist area. Remember North Canyon, "Read By Example."

National Guard Indy Car Display~ If you could please let the staff and kids know about the National Guard Indy Car on display Saturday, Nov 7th from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Nov 7th at the PV Mall near Sears. It is the grand opening on the National Guard Recruiting Office and we will be having give aways and the Indy car there for free photo sessions. Hope to see you there!!!
Transcripts for College Applications: Seniors who have completed college applications need to request their transcripts on Family Connection as the last step in the process. Please see Mrs. Bauchmoyer in the College and Career Center if you need help.
The SAT and ACT Method Test Prep on Family Connection is available once again!
SPORTS
Boys Golf Team ~ Congrat to the Boys Golf Team for qualifying for the STATE TOURNAMENT. It will be held at Papago golf course on Monday and Tuesday. Connor Bowen, Ryan Wood, Ryan Krause,Vick Kahlon all played well to enable the team to qualify and play next week in the STATE TOURNEY. Way to go Men!
GIRLS GOLF TEAM ~ Congratulations to the North Canyon Girls Golf Team for qualifying for the State Tournament which will be held today/tomorrow November 9th /10th at Aguila Golf Course. Contributing all year and especially yesterday (the girls made up 44 strokes) are: Freshman Lauren Lynch, Sophomore Lauren Coles, Juniors Taylor Barter and Natalie Hare. Congratulations and Good Luck at State Girls!!!!
GIRLS SOCCER ~ The final girls soccer try out will be today/Monday on the upper field 2:30pm-4:00pm.
