A Little About Me

I was born in Syracuse, New York, but only lived there for a few months.  My family moved a lot when I was growing up.  Here are all the places I've lived:

Syracuse, NY Belleville, IL Tucson, AZ Eagle Pass, TX Amarillo, TX Phoenix, AZ  (4 times)

Hamden, CT Pittsburgh, PA Schenectady, NY Canoga Park, CA Tallahassee, FL Cleveland, OH

I went to 9 different schools from kindergarten to high school!  

I have a big, wonderful family.  My husband is Dale, and we have a daughter, Sarah, who is 25 and lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, and a son, David, who is 16 and goes to high school.  I also have 3 brothers, 1 sister, 2 stepbrothers, 2 stepsisters, 6 nieces, 1 nephew, and 2 new twin nephews!

I love to travel, and the two favorite places I've visited are Italy and Egypt.  I also love to read.  Some of my favorite authors for children are Madeleine L'Engle, Kate DeCamillo, Barbara Park, Roald Dahl, and Walter Brooks (Freddy the Pig is a great detective!).

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education.  I hold 3 endorsements: Reading Specialist, Early Childhood, and Sheltered English Immersion.  I attained National Board Certification in 2007.
