Absence Make Up
We place a strong emphasis on attendance. Each day that a student is absent from school they LOSE FOUR points from 100 possible points. We grade on a 100-point scale. An example would be: If they miss three days of school they loose 12 points and have an 88 percentile. The good news is we have an ABSENCE MAKE UP policy that erases all of the lost points. For each day missed a 1/2 hour activity is required. Examples would be jogging, biking, swimming, hiking, exercises, sports or HOUSEHOLD chores. There is an official ABSENT MAKE UP slip in the coach’s office, or we will allow a note from the parent that lists the activity, the time spent and the parent/guardian signature.
