Students:
Don't forget, our classroom is the Language Arts Lab because it is the time and place during your daily school schedule where you are concentarating on the language skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking.  The format for our class is different from what you are accustomed to.  You are given the freedom to move through the curriculum at your own rate and to create your own daily plan as to what you work on during the class time.  You are able to decide what work you want to do at home as "homework".  We will continue meeting with you in a small group to discuss the assignments,  answer questions, explain new material, and assess your work.  I hope you are enjoying working in this manner and that you will truly accomplish much in your 8th grade year.

LIFE SKILLS

        YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT

Nutrition and Healthy Eating Habits are the topics of our units for this week.
Activities this week will include reading the textbook, completing a study guide, viewing videos on the Food Pyramid and Nutrition, and keeping a chart of daily eating habits.
