7th grade English at Desert Shadows Middle School
Welcome to Mrs. Kendrick's 7th grade English class!
Welcome back! As we enter the new year please take a moment to reflect. What goals to you have for yourself in the coming year? Third quarter is a fresh start, I would suggest an academic goal of NO MISSING ASSIGNMENTS!
Check the table below for a link to a flier about the flu. Although we have some hand sanitizer, we do not have enough for everyone to use everyday; they should bring a personal size and keep in their back pack for their personal use.
Required Supplies
*Organizer: 3-ring binder or expandable file folder
*Loose-leaf notebook paper: college ruled
*Pens: blue or black ink
*Pencils: wood or mechanical + lead
*Colored pen: red or other bright easy-to-see color for grading
*A box erasable color pencils- you need the following colors: red, blue, black, orange, purple, green, yellow, and brown
*Suggested
*Index cards
*Highlighters: yellow, orange, blue, whatever
*Tri-fold poster or poster board (for a project in the 1st quarter)
I am sure you are aware of the huge budget cuts education has been hit with. Our state funding for teachers and supplies has been drastically cut. As a result you will see larger class sizes and a heavier dependency on electronic distribution of information (little paper available). We will be asking for donations of needed supply items:
Donations? Yes! We can always use the following items. They are needed and much appreciated!
- Pencils - yellow wood with eraser
- Hand Sanitizer
- Lined paper
- Clorox wipes
- Reams of copier paper - any type will do for our English department printer, but while we hate to be choosey, our school copier is, and jams easily!) 8 1/2 x 11, 20 lb, 92 brightness for the school copier.
