The discipline policy at DSMS follows a set procedure.  If a student's behavior does not meet the district, administration, staff, or faculty's expectations for school behavior, the discipline plan will be implemented.

For first-time inappropriate behavior, the student is sent into isolation in the classroom.

For second-time inappropriate behavior, the student is sent into isolation in the classroom or sent to a buddy teacher.  Parents will be notified of behavior and potential future consequence if inappropriate behavior occurs a third time.

For third-time inappropriate behavior - student is sent to the Student Assistance Center (SAC).  Student will continue to go to the SAC room each day during the class period from which s/he was sent until a meeting can be held between the parents and the reporting teacher.  The student will not be allowed back into the classroom until assurances are made (by the parent and the student) that the behavior will not be repeated.  If inappropriate behavior continues, the student is sent directly to the SAC room without further warnings.
