A little bit about myself.  I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor's degree in Finance in 1997.  I worked at Washington Mutual Bank in Seattle for 7 years as a Business/Portfolio Analyst.  I loved my time in Seattle but got burnt out working in corporate America.  I went back to school and received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education through the University of Phoenix.  I moved to the Phoenix area in April 2005.  I was lucky to student teach here at Sunset Canyon in the fall of 2005 with Ms. Hargens in 3rd grade.  That spring I long-termed sub in 2nd grade also at Sunset Canyon.  I'm very excited to be starting my fourth full year teaching 6th grade.  6th Grade is a very exciting time for students, parents, and teachers and together we can make this year successful.

Below are some fun facts that I had the students try to figure out about me the first week of school.

This is my 4th year teaching 6th Grade

I have a dog named Jack

Football is my favorite sport to watch

Volleyball, Tennis, Softball, Basketball were sports I played in High School

I grew up in Iowa

I am not married

I do not have kids but have two adorable nieces and a nephew.

Starbucks Café Mocha is my favorite coffee

Blue is my favorite color

I like the Miami Dolphins but also cheer for the Seahawks.  

I love the Seattle Mariners in baseball.

For college I root for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Notre Dame Fighting Irish

I shop at Target most often

I was born in Iowa

I have lived in Iowa, Washington, California and Arizona

I love to hike, play with my dog, cross-stitch, go to yoga and hang out with friends

For candy, I love M&Ms or Dark Chocolate

For soda, I drink Diet Pepsi

Maui is my favorite place to vacation
