About Me

I am originally from a small town in Minnesota. I have lived in Arizona for 32 years, so I consider myself a native. I have been married for 31 years and have two adult daughters. My oldest, Jennifer, is now married and is a Physician Assistant in Indianapolis. She and her husband blessed us with our first granddaughter, Grace, who is now one and a half years old. My youngest, Sarah, is a Pediatric Physician Assistant for a practice in town. She is getting married this March and moving with her new husband to San Antonio. Both of my girls went to Paradise Valley schools from K-12, so I have been active in the District for 25 years, both as a parent and
teacher. While I was a stay-at-home mom, I was an active member of the PTA and volunteered a lot in my daughters' classrooms. It was then that I decided I wanted to go back to school so I could work with children full time. I received my teaching degree with honors from Grand Canyon University. I started my teaching career at Copper Canyon, then taught 11 years at Village Vista. In 2006, I was chosen to come to Wildfire as a member of the cadre. I also have my Early Childhood Endorsement and my SEI Certification.
When I am not at school, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy movies and the theatre, playing card games and bunco, reading, and being a spectator at a variety of sporting events (football and baseball). I also love to travel to new places to learn about different cultures. This summer my husband and I went with Jennifer and her family to Italy. What an inspiring country!
It is important to me to keep the lines of communication open so that we may work together to achieve the best education for your child. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please contact me.
