Your child will be in my class for one quarter. All of the assignments are due at the end of the quarter. However, the grade you see is the grade they would get if the quarter ended right now. That means that they can make up all assignments missing until the end of the quarter, but the grade is up-to-date according to my records.
The main item that your child will be learning in my class this quarter is the correct way to touch type. Many students can type or claim they can type, but when I take away their comfort (usually looking at the keyboard) they can no longer type. I teach them how to type and then we use this new skill in many ways throughout the quarter.
Your student will also learn about spreadsheets, databases, tables, graphics, and the list goes on. We are always busy in this class. Usually students have several assignments happening at one time. I have a lot to cover and just a short quarter to get it done.
