Mercury Mine Elementary School
2009-2010
Have a Great Day!!!
Weekly Newsletter...
Week of March 8, 2010
I will not be sending home Weekly Work Cards anymore. Be sure you child continues to read for at least 20 minutes every night and does something with math facts and spelling for about 10 minutes each. In addition to finishing up any class work. This is to help prepare them to move on to 5th grade with more independence. I will know if they are reading by looking at AR progress. Be sure to discuss daily with your student their work and what needs to be completed.
Also, as grades are entered on-line you will be able to see if your child has any missing assignments.
Please remember, if you have any questions or concerns about the curriculum or class, contact me as soon as possible. Better yet, come in and see me. I love the opportunity to clear up any issues and will help you as much as possible. We need to work together to help your child to be successful and have a great year!
Please be sure you check out the Mercury Mine Website for all your school information: mmes.pvschools.net

Mrs. Povinelli...
I began teaching 26 years ago. However, I was fortunate to be able to be off 9 years and take care of my family. This year is my 17th year of teaching, my 12th year at Mercury Mine. I have taught grades 1, 2, 3, 4, & 6. I have a gifted endorsement and taught gifted classes at Mercury Mine and Desert Cove for 3 of my years. My husband and I have two children...Amy, is a junior at the University of Arizona and Johnny, is a freshman at Northern Arizona University. We have 3 dogs: Lucky, Dakota, (both Border Collie mixes) and our newest puppy, Cheyenne, a Border Collie. In case you notice the change, Misty, became very ill over the holidays and passed away. In my "free time" I enjoy cooking, playing with my dogs (Dakota and I have taken agility classes for 3
years), spending time with my family, being an active member of a woman's organization called P.E.O., and looking on the internet for teaching ideas! I am looking forward to getting to know all my new students and to having a terrific year!
