About Pages

Pages is Apple's word processing software which emphasizes desktop publishing.  You can create newsletters, journals, flyers, posters, invitations and more by using the included templates.  Teachers and students will also discover many classroom uses for Pages in the Education Templates.  This is a six hour class and can be completedly entirely online.

Getting Started
1.  Register in CourseWizard for Online Class:  Pages.
2.  Watch the Online Classes Information Movie or attend the optional Informational Meeting.
3.  Add the TECH TIF Online Classes conference to your ConnectMe desktop.  Click here for directions.
4.  Go to Atomic Learning to begin the tutorials.  Click here for directions.
5.  In Atomic Learning, begin with the Pages Intro tutorials.  After you have viewed the tutorials, complete Assignment 1 - Education Template.

Assignment 1 - Education Template Document
After viewing the Pages Intro tutorials in Atomic Learning, create a document from one of the Education Templates (Education Scrapbook, School Report, Term Paper, Research Paper, Lab Notes, Syllabus, Evaluation, Quiz) or an Education Newsletter (from the Newsletters templates).
Please include these items in your document:
Add a page
Check spelling
Include page numbers
Hyperlink
Format text
Create a list
Add a paragraph background color
Add a table
Use a drop cap
Add image
Export and save as a PDF

Email the PDF to the TECH TIF Online Classes conference, subject line Pages - Education Template.

Assignment 2 - Choice Document
View the Pages - Advanced tutorials in Atomic Learning.  Create a document of your choice, related to your classroom or content.  Incorporate at least 5 skills/features from the Advanced Pages tutorial in your document.  List the features you used in your email.  Send the email and attached document (save it as a .pdf) to the TECH TIF Online Classes conference, subject line Pages - Choice.

All assignments must be completed and emailed by May 7, 2008.
