Welcome to third grade. This year is going to be a very exciting year for your child. We are going to have a lot of fun as we learn multiplication, division, cursive writing, the human body, Ancient Rome, animal classification, and many, more topics. In addition to their academic growth, third grade students will be practicing responsibility, organization, and classroom community. You can expect to have a high-energy classroom full of high expectations and cooperative learning.
I am excited to be working with your child. In order to have a successful school year, I encourage parent involvement. There are many ways you can help out in our classroom. Our class will welcome chaperones, parents helping from home, and classroom volunteers for different activities in the classroom. To ensure effective communication, you can keep track of your student’s grades through the on-line grade book Infinite Campus. In addition, your child will be bringing home a weekly assignment calendar. I welcome any questions and input from families. You will always be able to reach Ms. Dawson via e-mail, telephone, and classroom meetings.
