I have not yet planned next week out. However, I would like to remind everyone that A/R is due on Wednesday. I will be expecting students to try for 100% of their goal. I will also be collecting reading logs then and be putting in non-fiction and accuracy grades. Grades should change dramatically (for some students) on Wednesday.

We will be reading NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH by Avi during the next three weeks. I will be updating my website with the pages read each day so a student can catch up if they miss a day.

This week we will be doing a literary analysis writing project. In addition to this, we will be starting our Core Knowledge Roots Vocab words as well as starting our Core Knowledge Sentence Structure unit.

We are transitioning to our new grading site. Infinite Campus will be available on Tuesday, February 23 (or so they tell us!). Until then you can still access POGBy, but it is only read only. I can no longer enter grades. On 2/23 grades should be entered into our new system.

We are finishing Animal Farm this week. The final will be next Wednesday and the Binderwork will be due then.

We are reading Animal Farm. If a student misses a day it is my expectation they will read the chapter at home so they come back to class caught-up on the reading.

We are starting a literature unit: Animal Farm. The students have the books checked out so if they miss a day they should read the chapter indicated here.

Study Island is due EVERY Tuesday. The students may work ahead if they wish and turn in proof of completion to the basket.

We are starting a novel unit -- The Good Earth. The books are not checked out to students so if they miss a day they must come in at lunch to make up the reading. We will read approximately 2 chapters a day.
