Parents Can Foster Literacy At Home   

1.  Read TO your child.          

2.  Talk with your child, explaining new words, discussing new concepts, extending their oral language.

3.  Write notes, letters, cards to your children.

4.  Let them see you reading and writing.  Talk about books that interest you.

5.  PLAY with your children.  Share board games, card games, role-play (house, office, hospital, dr., etc), ride bikes, play ball, go for walks together.
