Welcome to Mrs. Kennedy's
Third Grade Class
Welcome to third grade! We are very excited about working with you and your child this year, During the school year, we will study many exciting topics. Some of these include the Vikings, Ancient Rome, animal classification, the human body, multiplication , division, and cursive writing. In addition to curriculum areas, we will be providing strategies in the areas of organization, time management, personal responsibility, and study skills. Third grade is a year of academic growth and children will be receiving letter grades.
We believe that in order for a child to be successful in school, parent involvement is crucial. You can be involved in many ways, such as a classroom volunteer, helping from home, chaperoning a field trip or helping with our special celebrations.
Communication between home and school is key to a student's success. Ways to stay informed and current on your child's progress are e-mail, the on-line gradebook, your child's weekly planner and the on-line assignment calendar. We welcome and appreciate comments and input from parents.
