TECHNOLOGY - FAQ's


How often will homework be assigned?

All assignments and projects are completed in class.


What supplies do I need for each day in class?

2 pens or 2 pencils (it's good to have a backup tool). All other supplies will be provided.


What if I don't know anything about Technology? What grade can I expect?

All students have the capability to receive an A+ in class. Projects and assignments are graded by what you learn during each session.


What if I don't know anything about a certain lab and I am afraid of failing the lab?

If your prior knowledge is low about a specific topic, you can still receive an A+ if you try your best and show forward progress at the lab.


Internet Use: When can I use the internet?

Internet can be used for academic purposes only. Surfing the net for entertainment is strictly prohibited.


What is the coolest lab ?

All labs are cool, however what is cool for one person may not be cool for another person. Everyone has different perspectives and interests. All labs are different to give you a wide variety of technologies to prepare you for the future to think and problem solve in many different areas.

What type of computers are used in the lab?

Mostly iMacs, 20" Monitors with 2.16 GH processor, super drives, and OSX 10.4 Tiger system.
There are 2 Dell computers required for specific software and programming.

If a student wanted to transfer their data they created from school to home, what would you suggest?

CD-R are suggested from the district. Bring a blank CD-R to class and student created documents can be burned on the disk.

Flash Drives are not accepted. The PVUSD has experienced several situations where viruses are transfered from home to school computers.


Is the teacher cool?

Yes, very cool, but maintains a frim, safe, positive, and motivational learning environment.
