Mac Tobor was a robot built by Roadrunner GenYes and Art Students. He was made of rebar, styrofoam, tons of computer parts, pipes, wires, motherboards, doorbells, lights and a G3 mac computer equipped with isight camera. Watch the movie made by Roadrunner students and get to know Mac....
The Art and GenYes students at Roadrunner School were given the task of creating the Welcome Portal for PVUSD's Media Fest!
What evolved was an awesome eight foot tall robot that took on a life on of his own! We had so much fun as a class creating this bot! He had to find a home on this website somewhere!
Equipped with a modified G3 mac laptop and parts of discarded printers, pdas, computers, vcr's, clocks, a doorbell, cameras and possibly part of a kitchen sink!
MacTobor speaks to you with comedy and disdain as operated mostly by Devin on the operating end of full screen video chat giving the impression that Mac really knows whats going on!
Mac really does care tho as evidenced by his beating heart.
And you know he's thinking something quirky with his twinkling brain!
From time to time...a consorted (contorted?) group of PV kids and staff images appear on Macs face and can be heard spouting out their own thoughts and welcome messages accross the office where Mac hangs out.
Mac tends to get his circuits crossed every now and then too beaming out his own random spacy beep bobs and techno speek!
