Welcome to Mr. Jarvis' Webpage
Boys' P.E. at Desert Shadows Middle School
Welcome to Boys' P.E. at Desert Shadows Middle School. I want to give you some information about
myself and our program here at D.S.M.S.
I was raised in Phoenix and attended school locally at Cocopah and Chaparral High. I graduated from Grand Canyon College with majors in Elementary Education and Physical Education. I also have a Masters in Educational
Administration through N.A.U. I have taught in the district for 22 years, and I have been at D.S.M.S. since 1987.
The following are the goals of our program:
1. Promote positive social interaction, responsibility, respect, and cooperation
2. Provide the opportunity to increase strength and improve conditioning through daily
exercise
3. Provide the opportunity to learn skills beneficial for lifetime participation in sports
Things needed to begin next year 2009-2010
1. A P.E. uniform can be purchased during the 1st week of school for $20($14 for the shorts, $6 shirt) or you can provide your own plain WHITE OR GREY t-shirt and plain BLACK GYM SHORTS
2. A combination lock, good quality (Master is the best); cheaper locks can be broken open easily. A quality key lock will work, but keep an extra key at home. Keys are easily lost during activity.
Latest Info- New Uniforms will be on sale from the first day of school. They are $20 for the set (shorts-$12 shirts-$10). We also will have a selection of clean and gently used uniforms (Shirts-$2 Shorts $2). Sizes are limited so the sooner you buy them, the better the selection.
