7th Grade Social Studies/Humanities

Grading: For the 2nd semester my classes are switching their grading policies. IB will continue to use weighted grades that are broken down by categories
35% Tests
15% Quizzes
10% Participation
40% misc. (writing, homework, classwork, etc)
Regular classes will be using a total points system.
Sick today??: My website is one thing I want to improve on. I'd like to keep it up to date, however, the best way to get accurate assignments is to email me at dhonkamp@pvlearners.net. I've even scanned reading assignments and worksheets and attached them to emails when responding. Even as I improve with updating my website, class activities/topics may be off by several days. Therefore if a student is home and feeling well enough to do work, the best solution is always to email me.
IB News and Notes: Continue working on Service Hours. By the end of the year, 25 hours are required. Hours should be completed and turned in on logsheets by May 22nd, although sooner works just fine.
Also, textbooks can begin being returned.
Classwork for IB Humanities (4/27-5/8):
Monday- WWI: before US enters
Tuesday- 1/2 day; reading comprehension paragraph
Wednesday- continue with US entering WWI
Thursday- videos on WWI, more notes
Friday- Open Notes Quiz; war ends
Monday- Wilson's 14 points; Treaty of Versailles
Tuesday- wrap up/review game
Wednesday- Test?
Thursday- impact of WWI on 1920s
Friday- problems of the 1920s
