Welcome to the 2009-10 school year! Our team is excited for the new school year and we are getting to know our students and beginning their learning journey.   

We are relying heavily on the Boystown model for teaching and practicing positive behaviors, and Mr. Baker and I are encouraged by the progress we see so far.

In addition to helping teach and model behaviors, I am focusing on student's reading and writing skills. During their class time with me, we are working on programs such as Study Island, Accelerated Reader, and Developing Metacognitive Reading Strategies. We have begun reading The Outsiders to expose the students to novels. My goal is to help each student improve his or her ability to read fluently and comprehend what has been read.
