Welcome Parents!!
This site is meant to help you stay informed with regards to your student's performance in math class.  I have also included some tips on how you can help your student succeed.

E-mail is the most efficient way for me to communicate with you.

The school's phone number is 602-449-4600.
Grades
You may check your student's grades by clicking on the following link - GRADES.
Usernames and passwords should have been received in a school mailing.  If you did not receive the mailing or have forgotten the information, you must contact the front office.
Make Up Work
Attendance is a key component to succeeding in math class.  If your student should miss class, please insure that they complete the make up work according to the policy.

Class Information
I have created a lengthy class information document that details the class expectations, materials needed, grading policies, homework policies, etc.  In order to find the online version of the class information document, click on the button that represents the class your student is registered for - Algebra or PreAlgebra.  Once you are on the class page, click on the button titled, 'Class Information.'
How You Can Help
1) Be positive and supportive.

2) If your student says,

"I can't ...." say, "Yes, you can!"

"I did it in class ...." Look to verify homework completion.

"We didn't do anything today ...." check the class site for lessons and due dates.

3) Check grades on Pogb.

4) Help with homework in the following ways:

*Listen as your child verbalizes the day's lesson
*Help your child achieve a positive attitude
*Don't hesitiate to email me with concerns
*Possibly a student/professional tutor would help
*Provide a supervised, quiet, no distractions, area for homework
*Provide a healthy snack... and physical fun 10 minute break
*Encourage Study Buddy get-togethers, using the phone, computer or providing transportion
*Utilize the online help provided in the link section of this website

5) Remind your child that their education IS their FIRST job.

6) Remember, that attendance is key to success.

7)  If your child is having difficultly in class....ASK:

*Have you been taking notes in class? May I see them?
*Have you been studying those notes and problems to prepare for quizzes and tests?
*Have you been studying by actually doing some problems?
*Can I help you organize your notebook, and keep it that way, so that you can find things?
*Do you have a study buddy? When and where do you get together?
*Do you do your homework?
*Have you asked questions?
*Have you used online help by using some of the links?
*Have you gone in for extra help?
*Are you getting enough sleep?
*Would a personal tutor help?
