School Council Meeting Minutes

SCHOOL COUNCIL MINUTES    11-17-09

 

  1. Soon there will be a school council communications link on the school website so that community members may contact school council members.
  2. TAX CREDIT; don’t forget to give this year!!
  3. Update on VVMS promotional presentations for feeder schools and other potential enrollment opportunities: PTSA request for VVMS presentation,                 6:30PM MONDAY, 12-14-09

                     Possible for Sept of 2010,

                     Breakfast for honors teachers to promote                                                                                  VVMS for increase in enrollment for MYP

  1. On Dec 7th, there will be an informal breakfast to meet the Principal. Invitations    are sent out to every eighth child enrolled at Vista Verde.
  2. We are currently applying to be A+ School. All members of school council reviewed and approved the descriptive summary of Vista Verde Middle School that will be submitted in the application.
  3. Possible suggestions for Parent Teacher Conference Format were: leave the format, it works, but change the meeting times to evenings and get rid of afternoon and somehow prep 7th grade parents on the procedure. There is a specialized committee working on this.
