Second
grade focuses on reading strategies in whole group
and small guieded reading groups. We include hands-on,
center based instruction to reinforce skills in
reading, art, language, math, science and social
studies. The math emphasis is on basic math facts,
place value, addition/subtraction of two and three
digist numbers, time, money, graphing, measurement
and geometry. Our science and social studies units
may include: friendship, mapping, the rainforest,
matter, human body systems, historical people,
woodlands and desert. Second grade works on creativity
and performing arts in the annual grade level production! |
