Describe a special teaching moment. It may be the fist time you realized you made the right career choice or a short story of a student who touched you. Many years ago I had a student in 6 th grade who was homeless part of the year and her family struggled throughout the year I had her in my class. I spent one day a week with her after school, helping her with homework and going out for ice-cream occasionally. Several years later when she was 16, she wrote me a letter thanking me for helping her though a very difficult time in her life. Sometimes you never know the influence you have on a child until many years later.
