New Principal..


On Thursday, June 11th, the PVUSD Governing Board approved the hiring of Jennifer Minor for the position of principal at Sonoran Sky Elementary School. Ms. Minor brings 12 years of experience in education to her new position and is thrilled to be our new principal. Ms. Minor spent the last four years serving as Assistant Principal in the Deer Valley Unified School District. Prior to becoming an administrator, Ms. Minor taught eight years in the classroom, six of which were spent teaching gifted services in both the Scottsdale Unified School District and Deer Valley Unified School District. A graduate of Northern Arizona University, Ms. Minor earned a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership in 2005. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 1995 from Mankato State University in Minnesota. In addition, Ms. Minor holds a Gifted Endorsement from the University of Phoenix.

Ms. Minor will be introduced to the Governing Board and the Sonoran Sky community at the July 9th Governing Board meeting, which begins at 6:00 PM at the district office located at 15002 N. 32nd Street.

School Tours will resume again in August. Tours available prior to the start of school (8/17) are on the following days at 10:00 a.m., August 4th, 6th, 11th,13th. These are drop in tours lasting approximately 1 hour. Teaching staff will not be available at this time. When school is in session, tours will resume every Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
