Facts about Maintenance and Operations

• Maintenance and Operations Department oversees the operations and maintenance of over five million square feet of building space and over 600 acres at district-owned sites with the 95 members of the F&C staff, supported by the head custodial staff and contracted custodial services at each campus.The support service department completed approximately 24,000 repair/improvement work orders during the 2007-08 school year.
  
  
• The district maintains over 42,000 tons of air conditioning capacity, enough to cool more than 12,000 homes.
  
  
• Our comprehensive preventative maintenance program includes visually inspecting, testing and taking necessary preventative measures to reduce equipment failure throughout the year. Building systems such as air conditioning and heating, roofing, electrical and plumbing are all included in the program.
  
  
• The PVUSD's proactive approach to air quality in the indoor environment has received national recognition by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Association of Energy Engineers.
