One
of our goals as a district is to help motivate students
to become life-long readers. A vast
body of research supports the idea that life-long readers
are life-long learners. This has been the goal
behind the R.E.A.D. in Paradise Reading since its inception.
In order to promote and enhance the
summer reading experience, these four school media
centers will be open (during days/times listed below)
to all PVUSD students and their families: Aire
Libre, Eagle Ridge, Indian Bend and Palomino II.

This summer, we are excited to partner with Phoenix
and Scottsdale Public Libraries and Barnes and Noble
Book Seller to enhance R.E.A.D. in Paradise. By
participating in the public library program, “Read
Your Way to the Ballpark”, students can earn
a free ticket to a Diamondback game. If students
read eight books and record the titles on a form available
at any Barnes and Noble, they can earn a free book. Students
can also record their summer reading titles on the
R.E.A.D. in Paradise brochure and return it to their
school in August for special recognition.
By offering
our PVUSD families summer access to five of our school
libraries, partnering with community reading programs
and offering incentives at each school site, we hope
to enhance the reading experience of your entire family
this summer.
