Mission

Goals and Objectives
Instructional Goal:
Improve instruction and learning to maximize student success, minimize student failure
and prepare students as successful citizens in a rapidly-evolving world.
Instructional Objectives:
- Implement a balanced assessment system (including diagnostic, formative and summative assessments) to design and align curriculum and adjust instruction to evaluate and enhance student progress.
- Embed 21st century skills including the Arizona Technology Standards as
appropriate within the curriculum while ensuring equitable access to all learners.
- Paradise Valley Unified School District will implement “Best Practices” from a
wide range of research-based instructional strategies, including traditional and innovative sources, to productively engage all learners and provide multiple
pathways of learning.
Human Resources Goal:
Improve and adapt instructional practices and learning environments to maximize student success.
Human Resources Objective:
Paradise Valley Unified School District will maximize student achievement by utilizing efficient, effective hiring and retention processes to employ the most qualified workforce.
Operational Goal:
Maximize student success through the focused use of district operational resources.
Operational Objective:
Paradise Valley Unified School District will coordinate all operational efforts in a fiscally responsible manner to provide safe, superior learning environments for all. |
The five-year long range plan adopted in 2004 has been completed and the process of developing a new long-range plan for the district is underway. A design team that includes the presidents of COA, PVP, PVEA, PVSEA and United Parent Council was convened in August 2009. With input from ther members, they created a framework for what will become the new long-range plan for PVUSD.
The design team gave recommendations for those who will serve on the Planning Committee and develop objectives for each of the goals, identify indicators of success and establish the process for creating strategies. Representation from all stakeholder groups will be part of the process, and Superintendent Dr. James P. Lee will present Compass 2015 to the Governing Board in May 2010.
