Dear TAC,
Over the past year TAC was to re-allocate laptops which were collected when the teacher's new laptops were issued.  On behalf of Community Education, I had put in several requests to the Technology department requesting the old computers for several purposes.  After several emails, I was told that TAC would be considering how to allocate those old computers.  Since I have not heard anything, I am assuming that TAC never received that request and so I would like to re-state my request if there are still old computers to be put to good use.  Community Education would use the old computers for the following:
1. Mascot Clubs before and after school programs are not issued school computers and the program is operated by Community Ed in 22 elementary schools.  Community Ed has funded all of the computers that are used in that program, but under the new budget contraints we would prefer to use hand-me down computers for our site managers.  The site manager uses computers for class lists, email updates on enrollment,  daily attendance, and email notification from Community Education on the Mascot conference.   (need 2-3 computers, preferably Dell or other PC)
2. Little Scholars Pre-kindergarten in 8 elementary schools would love to use old computers for introductory computer skills for 4 year old students. (need-8 to have one per school, but more would be even better)
3. Community Ed summer school offered an outstanding STEM class this summer and would like to offer a similiar class after school during the school year.  That class works with intermediate students and would prefer to have a mobile lab that we could take from one school to another with CADD installed.  Please take a look at the slideshow from summer 2009 to see how computers would be used.  (need 20 old computers)      http://www.joshuawhitephotography.com/stem/

Thank you for consideration!
