General Overview

The Center for Research in Engineering, Science and Technology, best known as CREST, is a small specialty school located on the campus of Paradise Valley High School.  Paradise Valley High School is located on the northwest corner of 40th Street and Bell Road and is easily accessed via both Route 51 and Route 101.

The Career and Technical Education classes that comprise CREST programs of study are housed in a newly constructed and partially renovated state of the art building.  The construction and renovation of this building was made possible by a generous grant from the City of Phoenix.  In 2007, The City of Phoenix proposed this grant in an effort to encourage Phoenix high schools to offer programs designed to increase the number of high school graduates who will pursue careers and postsecondary education dedicated to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) pathways.

The CREST facility contains two biotechnology laboratories, two engineering classrooms, a prototype fabrication laboratory and a presentation classroom.  Each year, 35 – 50 students will be accepted into each of the three CREST programs of study.  Applications will be available for eighth-grade students from October 1 to December 1 each year.  Students who live outside the Paradise Valley High School attendance boundaries will have to apply for Open Enrollment.  Open Enrollment applications are available via the PVUSD Website (www.pvschools.net) during the same application timeline.
