Engineering
Project Lead the Way (PLTW) will be the portal for our Engineering students. Students who are interested in biomechanics, aeronautics, and a myriad of other engineering specialties will participate in activities, project and problem-based learning. This is known as APPB-learning.
Research shows that schools practicing APPB-learning pedagogy experience an increase in student motivation, an increase in cooperative learning skills and higher-order thinking, and an improvement in student achievement.
Project Lead the Way is a nationally recognized program that adds rigor to traditional technical programs and relevance to traditional academics. Additionally, The University of Rochester supports PLTW as a dual enrollment college program. Examples of some career pathways are as follows: Chemical Engineers, Biomedical Engineers, Aeronautical Engineers, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Computer Generated Manufacturing, Robotics, Applications Programmer and Software Engineer
