“POP”

Congratulations! As a parent of a Pinnacle student, you are automatically a member of the Parents of Pinnacle “POP” organization. No worries…. Membership is FREE.

POP is a combination of previous parent groups that have worked hard over the past 6 years to assist PHS with the many traditions that define us.

POP will hold 3 Meetings, 7-8:30 pm, to be held on the PHS campus:

Fall Meeting: Tuesday, August 28

Winter Meeting: Tuesday, January 15

Spring Meeting: Tuesday, April 8

WHAT WE PLAN TO DO for the 2007-2008 School Year:

• Provide the Umbrella Tax Services and Insurance for all applicable clubs, organizations and sports teams;
• Provide a free School Directory for all Pinnacle families (Information comes from the Emergency cards and the school database; only those families requesting not to release information to the school will not be in this directory);
• Provide up-to date communication about PHS to the parents using the PHS website (http://cmweb.pvschools.net/phsweb), or linked through www.pvschools.net, letters, email correspondence, newspapers, etc.;
• Provide club support & assist in their fundraising efforts, as needed;
• Provide Teacher and Staff Appreciation & Support;
• Provide special programs for students and parents;
• Host “Project Grad”, the all-night party for the graduating seniors; free to the students;
• Provide scholarships for the graduating senior class.
• Financially support ‘The Foundation of Public Education Supporting PVUSD’ (They are providing the College & Career Centre, located in the ITC at PHS).

Without a lot of parent participation and support, NONE of these items could be achieved! We are asking everyone to help keep these PHS traditions alive and well.

Here’s a piece of information ALL PHS parents should know…..

It will cost approximately $80,000 for the 2007-2008 school year to provide all the services and events listed above. (With 2100 students, that’s $38/student if we had 100% parental participation). So here are the………..

3. Attend our Fall Fundraiser, the 7^th Annual BOOTS & HEELS Dinner & Auction. Save the Date: Saturday, November 17^th,7 pm – 11:00 pm Dress Code: Anything goes, as the event title states. Jeans to “dress-up” is appropriate. (Fill in contact information form below and mail to PHS or turn in at POP walk-through table)	_____Yes, I want to volunteer in some way on the Boots & Heels fundraiser.	This is the largest fundraiser we do all year! Parents, teachers & staff get together for a lively auction, games and a delicious cowboy-style dinner. Get a jump on your holiday shopping while supporting your child’s school. Tickets cost $50/each or $100/couple. Enjoy the chance to socialize with PHS parents at the Boots & Heels event!	$_______
4. Donate items for the BOOTS & HEELS live & silent auctions.	_____Yes, I want to volunteer in some way in the collection of donated items for the Boots & Heels event.	Fill out the contact information form below or bring your donated items with you to walk-through. Your company or family may have something to give and everything is needed to make this fundraising event successful!
5. “Opportunity Knocks” Drawing Tickets are one (1) for $50 or six (6) for $250. Only 1000 tickets will be sold! (Fill in contact form below). Drawing winner will win $10,000 !!!	_____Yes, I want to volunteer in some way with the Opportunity Knocks fundraiser.	This event was new to PHS last year and was held during the annual Boots & Heels event. This year, tickets will start being sold at walk-through and the final drawing will take place at 3^rd POP Meeting, April 8, 8:30 pm (need not be present to win)	I want ______ (# of tickets).
