Calendar
First quarter ended. Fall sports ending, playoffs soon. Winter sports begin 11/2. Homecoming 10/24, theme Candy Land. Choir concert amazing, program growing in leaps and bounds. Band definitely going in right direction with growth. Alice in Wonderland production prior to Thanksgiving. Principal’s Student Advisory Council held today. Flu clinic postponed.
School Magazine Title Change
Barbie Dahl, student Editor in Charge presented a request for title change from The Pioneer Premiere to P Blueprint magazine. Consensus unanimous approval. Three issues this school year: first part of December, late January ~ early February, end of school year.
Field Trip Absences
Students miss school due to school related activities/field trips. Would like for School Council to decide whether or not we change present protocol. How do we want to look at approved time away from school? This will also assist staff planning of educational activities. Would like to have a statement or decision to present to staff. To be discussed further at next meeting.
Homecoming Dance
Homecoming planned for October 24th. Last year added in addition to staff, parent chaperones. PHS does a good job monitoring behavior that goes on. PHS security staff and police hired to provide security. Guest passes limited to 200, juniors and seniors only. Must be 20 or younger to attend. $20. advance ticket purchase, $25. at door. Students encouraged to make smart decisions with drug and alcohol reminder announcements to be made the week of.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Conferences will be held on Monday, November 9th, 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the large and small gyms, arena style set-up. This followed by a district wide K-12 early release day on Tuesday, November 10th. Veteran’s Day holiday on Wednesday, November 11th. The day before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 25th will be an early dismissal day for PHS students only as return to the staff for working.

M & O Budget
Friendly reminder to vote on Tuesday, November 3rd. It is hoped that the M & O Budget Override for PVUSD will be approved.
Group Performance Based Pay
The PHS group building plan for PBP was originally developed by the Technology Committee and Instructional Division Leaders. The Group PBP is an activity, project PHS chose to do as a school. This years Group PBP will require teachers to transform their web pages from information sites to instructional tools and continue to explore new ways to incorporate pvLearners in their classrooms. Plan approval granted.
Principal’s Student Advisory Council
A cross section of students has been selected to meet periodically with Mr. Reynolds to discuss various issues surrounding PHS for purposes of feedback only, not decision making.
Global Competition Article
Good article for reading.
Next School Council Meeting scheduled for Thursday, November 19th at 3:45 PM in the Administrative Conference Room. Meeting changed to Tuesday, November 17th.
