The Family Connection Program is now set up with an ACT/SAT test preparation program.  The program is FREE!!!.  If you have any questions, please see your counselor in the counseling department.

ASU - SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM

   July 5 - August 6  2010

   Summer Bridge assists first-semester freshmen in making a successful transition from high school to college.  Through Summer Bridge, students become acclimated to campus life at ASU, gain access to student support programs and services, and learn effective academic skills.  Students can earn up to 7 academic credits during the five-week session.  Apply at   https//studentsuccess.asu.edu/sbapplication/.  See Mrs. LaPorte in the College & Career Center with any questions.

 

ASU – ONLINE AND EXTENDED CAMPUS – SUMMER READING PROGRAMS

All HS Students – Students in these programs improve comprehension one to two grade levels while doubling reading speed.  They also learn the best way to read textbooks, take notes and study for tests.  For more information or to register call 1-800-978-9596.

 

 

BANSON – NYC FASHION SUMMER CAMPS

Banson is offering 3 fashion summer camps for teens entering 9th-12th grades.  Each session is a weeklong day camp.  Applications is on a first come, first serve basis.  Day camp costs $1,150 per student.  Session A – June 28th – July 2nd; Session B – July 19th-July 23rd; Session C – August 23-August 27th.  For more information contact Banson NYC @ www.bansonnyc.org or call (917) 328-1469.

 

BROWN LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

BLI helps students make a positive difference in the world.  Students develop and apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes associated with effective and socially responsible leadership.  There are 12 different leadership courses for the summer of 2010 to sign up for.  Students live on campus and may participate in on-campus co-curricular activities.  www.brown.edu/summer

GATEWAY COMMUNITY COLLEGE – DISCOVER SUMMER PROGRAM

Paradise Valley Community College

PVCC will be offering several different classes this summer to get you ready for the Fall Semester:

1.  CAREER EXPLORATION ( CPD 102 AB )  - This class will introduce you to new Career goals and paths.

It will meet every Monday night from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm beginning June 7th. 2 college credits

2. COLLEGE SUCCESS (CPD150) - This class focuses on self-motivation, time and energy management, goal setting, and effective study skills. 3 college credits

U of A - NEW START SUMMER PROGRAM

   June 10 - July 23 2010

    As a participant in New Start, you will enroll in 6 credits on campus, thus you will find yourself immersed in the kind of study expected of a college student.  Students will reside in an on campus residence hall where you will be supervised by staff to learn about campus life.  Financial aid available. @ transitions.arizona.edu/newstart.
