AMERICAN
LEGION BOYS STATE OF ARIZONA – Deadline 4/1/10 (*)
HS Male
Junior - Boys State is a leadership action
program where high school male juniors participate in a practical governmental
course designed to develop a working knowledge of the structure of state and
local government. Two juniors are nominated by their school;
they must demonstrate self-discipline, have interest in the democratic process
and is outstanding in their academic and social activities. This session will be held on the campus
of NAU from June 6th – June 12th. There is a registration fee of $75.00
(for delegates only). Nomination forms are available in
the counseling office and should be returned to counseling by March 5th,
for the nomination committee to vote upon.
ASU – BIODESIGN
INSTITUTE AT ASU’S SUMMER HIGH SCHOOL INTERNSHIP – Deadline 3/31/10
HS Junior – Students that will be seniors during the
2010-2011 school year and are interested in science can apply for this
internship program. This program
runs for 6 weeks (June 7-July 19).
Those selected are expected to volunteer a minimum of 15-20 hours per
week. Interns will receive a
monetary stipend for travel expenses.

CHAVEZ LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE – Deadline 3/26/10 (*)
HS Sophs and Jrs - CCLI is a one-week leadership program from June
6-12, 2010. Selected students
participate in workshops, where they explore higher education, develop
leadership skills and participate in a community service program while living
on ASU campus. Approximately 60
students will be selected.

ASU – CHINESE
LANGUAGE CAMP – STARTALK – Deadline 3/31/10
This is a 15 day residential
program provides students in grades 10-12 a great opportunity to explore and
expand their knowledge in Chinese language and culture through a highly
structure theme-based curriculum.
During the program, students will receive Chinese language instruction
and participate in activities in cultural classes. After the program students will commit to taking Chinese
language classes. Generous
scholarships are available for those who take Chinese classes at ASU. Date of camp is June 13-27 at ASU Tempe
Campus. There is a $100

BLI helps students make a
positive difference in the world.
Students develop and apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes
associated with effective and socially responsible leadership. There are 12 different leadership

INSTITUTE OF CHINA BUSINESS RESEARCH – SUMMER 2010 STUDENT ESSAY COMPETITION
The CICBR
provides a serve that bridges the cultural and communication gap between the US
and China. Their blend of
business and cultural exposure, education and case studies, opportunity
scouting and networking introduces student to flourishing businesses throughout
China. The program
enhances students practical knowledge and find potential for career
advancement. Applicants must

OF ARIZONA - SUMMER ACCOUNTING CAREERS AWARENESS PROGRAM – Deadline 4/15/09
The ACAP program is
an annual weeklong event sponsored by Ernst & Young and the U of A
Accounting Department and is offered FREE OF CHARGE to students.
Students that are selected will be housed on campus in dorms and
participated in activities and field trips designed to the accounting
profession and its carious career opportunities. This year’s program will be held from Sunday, June 6th
