Arizona MusicFest is proud to help sponsor the Brummitt-Taylor Classical Music Listening Program at North Ranch School. Arizona MusicFest is in its 16th season bringing "Carnegie Hall" quality jazz, classical, opera, and Broadway music to the Desert Foothills, just a few miles  away. As partners with North Ranch, MusicFest introduced what is known to the kids as the "BT Music Program." Gleaned from all the great classics of our time, the B-T Music Program was developed by two musicologists from British Columbia. The program provides 5 years of classical music listening for a classroom, so ostensibly, each week, your child could be listening to a different composition for 5 years. There are always favorites that are used year after year, making the music all the more familiar to the children.

You may know that studies have shown that listening to classical music has shown that concentration and focus can improve kids learning, and healing and that classical music can stimulate brain cells.

In addition to supplying teachers with the manual and 8 CDs for listening, MusicFest has provided teachers with posters to further education related to instruments. We have also had the privilege of inviting students to a live concert with MusicFest's Festival Orchestra. .In February, 2007, the 4th through 6th grade students will attend a Festival Orchestra open rehearsal, under the leadership of  Robert Moody, formerly resident conductor of the Phoenix Symphony and now  conductor of the Winston- Salem Orchestra and MusicFest's Maestro.
