WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN!

LANGUAGE ARTS AND READING	Harcourt is a comprehensive language arts and reading program that prepares the children for first grade. The children exit kindergarten visualizing themselves as readers and writers.
MATH	Houghton Mifflin mathematics is a "hands-on" manipulative approach that emphasizes active learning experiences, problem solving skills and independent investigation.
SOCIAL STUDIES	The Scholastic program helps children grow in awareness of themselves as unique thinking individuals, as members of a society and as people with a past and a culture.
SCIENCE	Scott Foresman Science and the Foss Science kit provide a balanced treatment of life, earth, and physical sciences.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Teachers work closely with parents to provide the best possible start for each child.
Each child comes to school with different strengths and will progress at a different rate.
Our goal is to help your child learn the most that is possible in a fun and enjoyable way.
We are proud of our Kindergarten program and eager to share information.
Newsletters are sent home to keep parents informed on what we are learning and reminders of upcoming events.
We practice the six pillars of character - Respect, Responsibility, Trustworthiness, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.
Daily Attendance is very important because kindergarten is an "activity" based curriculum.
Parent conferences are held in October to discuss your child's progress. January conferences are a student led open house format.
