SPRING AIMS TUTORING SESSIONS

Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) Exam

AIMS Exams Schedule for Second Semester - The AIMS Writing and Reading Exams will be given on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, and Wednesday, February 27, 2008.  The AIMS Math and Science Exams will be given on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, and Wednesday, April 9, 2008.  The AIMS Science exam will be given only to all students enrolled in Biology and have not taken the test.  Testing days will have a modified schedule.  Students taking the AIMS are expected to arrive at school by 7:40 AM and remain the entire school day. 

FOR ALL JUNIORS AND SENIORS WHO HAVE PASSED THE AIMS MATH TEST, TUESDAY’S CLASSES WILL BEGIN AT 11:00.

FOR ALL STUDENTS NOT TAKING THE SCIENCE AIMS TEST ON WEDNESDAY, CLASS WILL BEGIN AT 10:30.

BUSES WILL BE ON A DOUBLE RUN SCHEDULE.  THOSE TESTING WILL BE PICKED UP AT THE REGULAR TIME AND THOSE NOT TESTING WILL BE PICKED UP ON TUESDAY, APPRX. 3 ½ HOURS AFTER THEIR REGULAR PICK UP TIME.  ON WEDNESDAY, THE PICK UP TIME WILL BE APPRX. 3 HOURS AFTER THEIR REGUALR PICK UP TIME.  THIS IS AN APPROX. TIME.  YOUR BUS WILL PICK YOU UP – PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BUS STOP.  BUS DROP OFF AFTER SCHOOL WILL BE AT NORMAL TIMES.

ONLY STUDENTS TESTING WILL BE ALLOWED ON CAMPUS DURING TESTING TIMES BOTH DAYS.

Personalized AIMS Study Guide - The Arizona Department of Education provides a service that allows students who have taken but not yet passed the AIMS Writing, Reading and or Math exams to create a personalized study guide.  Click here for more information.

Tutoring - Tutoring for the AIMS exams will be available for students.  For more information, contact your student's guidance counselor at NCHS or one of the site testing coordinators.  For further information about state tutoring services, view the ADE's Tutoring FAQ.

Students with IEPs and Section 504 Plans - Students with IEPs or 504 Plans shall not be required to achieve passing scores on competency tests in order to graduate from high school unless a passing score on a competency test is specifically required in a specific academic area by the student's IEP or 504 Plan. AIMS Reciprocity - Students transferring to NCHS from out-of-state will not have to take the AIMS exam if they have already passed that state's assessment test. TerraNova

TerraNova Exam Schedule for Second Semester - The Terra Nova exams will be given to the freshman Class of 2011 on Tuesday, April 8, 2008.  Testing days will have a modified schedule.  Students taking the TerraNova are expected to arrive at school by 7:40 AM and remain until 2:00 PM.  Students not taking the TeraNova are expected to arrive at 10:30 AM.

SAT-ACT TESTS 2007-2008
