(Words of the Week)
Schoolwide Vocubulary Initiative
2010-11
NCHS is dedicated to literacy and will continue to provide a schoolwide vocabulary initiative for all NCHS students. WOW - Words of the Week - supports the English 1-2 stem work program. Students are exposed to the same stem work in all of their classes. The intent of this exposure is to provide support for our 9th grade students and to serve as a review for our 10th, 11th and 12th grade students; each classroom teacher customizes the usage of the WOW stem to their content area. This collaborative initiative reinforces reading as a foundational skill. All learning is language-based, and NCHS will continue to enrich the vocabulary skills of all of our students. |
Students with
Early Dismissal
Students who have chosen the Early Dismissal scheduling option are required to leave our school grounds after completing their last class. For example, if you have chosen fourth hour Early Dismissal you would need to leave campus after fourth hour. This is true even if you participate in extra curriculars. The student in questions would simply need to return after school is out in order to participate in his/her activity. Again, students who have chosen Early Dismissal must leave school grounds after completing their last class.
