Part of the Paradise Valley Unified School District, Mercury Mine has nurtured the educational potential of this community's young learners since 1976. During the 2007-2008 school year, Mercury Mine enrolled 635 students. Our average class size is 25.
School Office
The Mercury Mine office is open 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday following the school calendar. The office is closed for summer break June 2 through July 21.
Registration
Kindergarten registration for the 2008-2009 school year begins March 10. Registration packets outlining requirements and documents are available from the school office. Students new to the area must provide the same documentation and may register at this time.
School Calendar
The 2008-2009 school year begins August 11, 2008 and ends May 27, 2009.
School Hours
Kdg. through Sixth Grades 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Early Dismissal 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Students should not report to the school grounds more than 20 minutes before classes begin. There is no supervision prior to that time (8:40 a.m.).
Food Services
Mercury Mine has an onsite cafeteria providing daily lunch at a cost of $1.75. Students may purchase debit cards or use cash. Reduced and no cost lunch is available for eligible students. Breakfast is available from 8:30 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. at a cost of $1.00 per day. Check the menus!
Health Services
Our Health Center is staffed by a full-time registered nurse who can be reached at 602 449-3703.
Bus Transportation
The District Transportation Department provides information on bus schedules and bus stops. They can be reached at (602) 449-2251.
Before and After School Programs
The Paradise Valley Unified School District provides before and after school programs on our campus through the Mascot Clubs. Morning hours are 6:30 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. Afternoon hours are 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Care is also provided on early dismissal and school holidays.
