Liberty offers various
after-school activities for students. Some
are offered by private companies that charge
a fee (i.e. chess, keyboarding); some are
school-sponsored and available at no cost
to students (i.e. chorus). Please call
the Liberty office with any questions or
for more information: (602) 493-6160
Band
Steve
Edman, Director
We are off and running this year with 60 current Liberty band students.
That is almost double the 35 students that completed the program
last year! Larger numbers are both good and challenging: Good for
the overall sound of the group and for the future of the middle and
high school band programs; a challenge however to give each student
the individual attention he or she really deserves. One way to overcome
this challenge is through private lessons: I have an up-to-date listing
of private lesson teachers in the band room that your student is
welcome to bring home.
The
band schedule works as follows:
- ALL students
have band every Monday.
- On those weeks
(Week 1) when band meets only twice
ALL students will have band again on
Wednesday.
- On those weeks
(Week 2) when the band meets three
times the students will be divided
by instruments or level on Wednesdays
and Fridays.
