About
the STEP program
Student teachers majoring in
elementary, secondary and special education from around
the country are invited to join us in Paradise.
The Paradise Valley Unified School District is seeking quality student
teachers to experience a semester of student teaching in a leading school
district.
Those chosen to participate in the
PVUSD's Student Teaching
Experience in Paradise program will have
the opportunity to: |
- grow and learn in a leading school district in the Southwest.
- work with a master teacher. PVUSD currently has more state-designated
Master Teachers and nationally certified teachers than any other district
in Arizona.
- gain valuable teaching experiences. PVUSD serves children from all
socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. Our special education teachers
are dedicated to providing quality instruction and programs for all
students with special needs.
- participate in online ESL training in Structured English Immersion
(SEI). Teacher interns can complete 15 hours of SEI training, which
will enable them to receive a provisional SEI endorsement.
- learn new instructional strategies through Wilson Language Training.
This multi-sensory, structured reading and spelling curricula is dedicated
to provide resources needed to help students become fluent, independent
readers.This training is available for special education interns.
- enjoy unlimited, in-district professional development opportunities.
