Title Programs Coordinator

 

The local Homeless Liaison serves as one of the primary contacts between homeless families and school staff, district personnel, shelter workers, and other service providers.  The liaison coordinates services to ensure that homeless children and youth within the PVUSD enroll in school and have the opportunity to succeed academically.

 

1. Ensure that homeless children and youth are identified by school personnel and through coordination activities with other entities and agencies.

2.  Ensure that homeless students enroll in, and have equal opportunity to succeed in school.

3.  Communicate the educational rights of homeless students to parents and guardians of homeless children and youths.

4. Assist homeless children and youth with such activities as enrolling in school and accessing school services, obtaining immunization or medical records, and transportation.

5.  Work with school staff and administration to provide training, educational support and family resources.

6. Keep accurate records of the homeless population district wide.

Title I Coordinator

 

Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
