HEALTH
ASSISTANT – HIGH SCHOOL
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.
High
School Diploma or equivalent.
2.
One
year clerical experience.
3.
Knowledge
of general office procedures.
4.
Certification
in First Aid and CPR, or ability to obtain certification within two (2) months
of hire date.
5.
Effective
communication skills.
GRADE: 10
REPORTS TO: Building Administrator and/or School Nurse
ESSENTIAL JOB
FUNCTIONS:
1.
Establish
and maintain good rapport with students, employees and community.
2.
Maintain
a high level of confidentiality.
3.
Provide
information concerning district policies and procedures.
4.
Perform
general office tasks.
5.
Assist
the school nurse in the operation of the health office, including student care,
medication administration, health screening and other projects as assigned.
6.
Maintain
health office supplies and equipment.
7.
Prepare
and maintain health and medical records as requested by district, state and
federal policies/laws.
8.
Ability
to perform computer data entry of student immunizations and heath information.
9.
Other
job-related duties as assigned.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten or twelve-month year. Salary and
work year to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with
provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
