HUMAN RESOURCES TECHNICIAN III - BENEFITS (previously Personnel Employment Technician III – Benefits)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Knowledge of employee benefits.
  3. Experience with Microsoft Office.
  4. Effective communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Previous office experience in an educational environment.

GRADE: 21

REPORTS TO: Department Administration

SUPERVISES: Human Resources Technicians I & II

JOB GOAL:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Establish and maintain a good rapport with students, employees and community
  2. Maintain a thorough knowledge of benefits in all bargaining agreements.
  3. Provide relevant information as needed for employees regarding benefits.
  4. Assume responsibility for all billing procedures to include, balancing of monthly statements using accurate participation count.
  5. Maintain and collect monthly premiums for all LOA/COBRA insurance accounts.
  6. Submit needed census data to insurance companies under contract.
  7. Coordinate open enrollment preparation between Paradise Valley Unified School District No. 69 and insurance carriers.
  8. Process and track all PVUSD retires with the Arizona State Retirement System for monthly insurance reimbursement from district.
  9. Assist new employees with benefits.
  10. Generate computer-based reports, as needed.
  11. Acts as HIPPA privacy officer.
  12. Other job-related duties as assigned. 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.

SKILL TESTS REQUIRED: Spelling, Mathematics, Filing, and Typing, and Personnel Department Computer Assessment Test.
