FACILITIES
& CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN IV – PROJECT SPECIALIST (Formerly Construction Projects Specialist/Warranty)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High
School Diploma or GED.
- Working
knowledge of current construction practices.
- Experience
with contractor and vendor interaction.
- Knowledge
of and ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications.
- Experience
with Microsoft Office.
- Experience
in methods and/or management of construction projects.
- Ability
to work independently.
- Effective
communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS
degree or equivalent.
- One-year
construction experience.
- One-year
experience with computer aided drafting systems.
GRADE: 26
REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities and Construction.
SUPERVISES: Support
Services Construction Technician 2 - Computers
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Establish
and maintain good rapport with employees, community, contractors,
architects and various government agencies.
- Create
and maintain project logs including safety issues/follow up.
- Provide
quality assurance transition as construction is completed.
- Inspect
construction/work projects and insure that safety and design
specifications are within compliance.
- Maintain
current inventory status of all district construction issues.
- Troubleshoot
warranty and plan discrepancy problems.
- Work
within specific time frames.
- Act
as a resource to staff and consultants.
- Other
job-related duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year
to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in
accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support
Services Personnel.
