FACILITIES & CONSTRUCTION NETWORK SYSTEMS ANALYIST- HVAC/EMS/FMS

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Demonstrated expertise in the management and operation of local and wide-area networks for energy management systems.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Experience in the installation and application of innovative/emerging technologies in energy and facilities management.
  4. Experience in an educational environment.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  7. Demonstrated understanding of HVAC technologies as they relate to the installation and use of hardware and software systems.
  8. Experience training staff on hardware and software applications.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. MSCE certification preferred.
  3. Two years experience managing EMS/FMS environments in new and existing locations.
  4. Experience in managing conversions from one platform or OS to another.
  5. Experience with integration of EMS/FMS systems.
  6. Experience managing outsourced services.
  7. Experience using test equipment.
  8. Prefer experience with Johnson Controls and Trane EMS.
  9. Prefer post-high school and continuing education related to EMS/FMS.

JOB GOAL:  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Coordinate the installation of EMS/FMS Hardware including services, bridges, gateways, cabling, and software, including operating systems.
  2. Coordinate the installation of and support applications software packages.
  3. Design optimal end-user EMS solutions for existing and new construction.
  4. Serve as EMS/FMS technical support resource to assist department in developing further technology improvement plans and purchase.
  5. Maintain system and end-user documentation for installed EMS/FMS.
  6. Maintain and troubleshoot system issues.
  7. Continually assess all department technological systems and recommend adaptations and/or new acquisitions.
  8. Assist in maintaining computer hardware and software systems.
  9. Assist in the identification of training and staff development needs.
  10. Train small groups as needed. Facilitate the resolution of computer or systems-related problems such as inoperative hardware or software.
  11. Install and maintain EMS/FMS systems
  12. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
