FACILITIES & CONSTRUCTION MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN IV – (Formerly Maintenance III – Grounds/General/Building/Special (Journeyman); Maintenance III – Alarm/Sprinkler System Technician; Maintenance III – Special Systems Technician;  or Maintenance III – Telephone/AV Technician/Special Systems)

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.        High School Diploma or GED.

2.         Experience as a Maintenance Technician I, II or  III.

3.        Knowledge and work experience in journeyman level maintenance/construction trades required.

4.        AZ drivers’ license required/CDL license preferred.

5.        Ability to work independently.

6.        Experience in area reflected on posting.

REPORTS TO: Lead Person

SUPERVISES: Maintenance Technicians I, II, and III

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, and community.
  2. Perform as a journeyman in one or more of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, refrigeration, welding, locksmith, business machines, av. repair, heavy equipment, sprinklers, sheet metal, carpet installer, tile, alarm sprinkler systems, special systems, telephone systems or other trades as assigned.
  3. Physical activity working outside in all weather conditions including the hot sun.
  4. Record maintenance/repair documentation as needed.
  5. Must be able to work various shifts.
  6. Subject to call outs during evenings, weekends or holidays.
  7. Assist with design, evaluation and bid specification preparation.
  8. Act as the school district liaison with appropriate governmental/contract agencies.
  9. Other job-related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.

SKILL TESTS REQUIRED: Demonstrate ability to lay out and build a wood stud wall to specifications. Demonstrate knowledge of how to conduct voltage (Refrigeration) checks.
