FACILITIES & CONSTRUCTION MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN III (formerly Maintenance Tech II – Grounds/General Trades/Building Trades/ Special Trades (Apprentice); Maintenance II – Alarm/sprinkler System Technician; Maintenance II – Grounds/General Trades Building Trades (Apprentice) Lighting)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Experience in one or more of the trades or maintenance operations.
  3. Arizona Driver’s License

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. One-year experience as a Maintenance Tech I preferred
  2. Must be able to work at heights up to 40 feet.
  3. Experience with man lift and boom truck operation..
  4. Knowledge of terminology and in the repair and maintenance of security alarm systems.

GRADE: 22

REPORTS TO: Lead Person

SUPERVISES: Maintenance Technicians I and II

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, and community.
  2. Assists journeyman in one or more of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, refrigeration, welding, locksmith, business machines, av. repair, heavy equipment, sprinklers, sheet metal, carpet installer, tile, alarm sprinkler systems or other trades as assigned.
  3. Physical activity working outside in all weather conditions.
  4. Must be able to work various shifts.
  5. Assist in maintaining appropriate maintenance/documentation records.
  6. Other job-related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
