FACILITIES & CONSTRUCTION MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I – (Formerly General Maintenance Technician Building/General/Special; General Maintenance Technician – Grounds; Groundskeeper I (Trade Group) (Weed, Pest Control, Sweeper); Horticultural Services Technician; CE Building and Grounds Coordinator)

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Arizona driver's license.
2. High School Diploma or GED.
3. Demonstrated ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment.
4. Demonstrated ability to climb a ladder and work in high or restricted space.
5. Ability to work independently.
6. Effective communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience in general maintenance trades.
2. CDL license

GRADE: 11

REPORTS TO: Lead Person

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Establish and maintain a good rapport with employees and community.
2. Work in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and dusty or dirty areas.
3. Lift minimum of 60-pounds on a continual basis.
4. Be available for emergency call outs on weekends and holidays.
5. Ability to perform general maintenance tasks to include but not limited to landscaping, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and plumbing.
6. Assist Support Services Maintenance Techs II and III.
7. Other job-related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
